HOW, WHERE, AND WHEN
Voting is one of the best ways to make your voice heard. When you vote, you are helping shape the government to reflect your needs and values.
We’re here to make it convenient and accessible for students like you.
In 2024, only 62% of students voted compared to 76% of registered Minnesota voters statewide.
This year, we want to turn out as many students as possible, and that starts with registering to vote.

You can register online or find other ways to register to vote on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.

In Minnesota, you can wait until Election Day to register to vote. However, we encourage you to register before Election Day—it will save you time at your polling place.
The deadline to register online is 11:59 p.m. 21 days before Election Day - October 13, 2026
The deadline to register on paper is 5:00 p.m. 21 days before Election Day - October 13, 2026
Within 20 days before the election, you can submit a registration form, but it will not be processed until after Election Day.
You can always register when you vote, either at a polling place or when voting absentee.

WHERE YOU CAN VOTE
Minnesota has the longest early voting period in the country—46 days. This means you have multiple options to vote in this year’s elections, from early in-person, to in-person on Election Day.

OUR VOTER GUIDE
This is a crucial year in Minnesota.
An open U.S. Senate seat is up for grabs, and eight U.S. Representatives are running for re-election this year. At the state level, you can also vote for governor, auditor, secretary of state, and attorney general. The entire state legislature is also up for re-election.
In addition to the federal and statewide races this year, there are tons of local elections happening, too.
